6 Questions Buyers Ask 12.08.22

For buyers looking for their new home, it's extremely important that they ask the right questions and don't forget any of the nitty-gritty details.
Here are some of  the  questions prospective buyers are likely to ask:

1. Is there any damp?
If damp areas are found whilst viewing a house, the buyers may lose interest in not only the property, but also the estate agent for not being aware of the problem.

2. How old is the roof?
Replacing a roof is an expense that most people will understandably wish to avoid. Depending on the materials, roofs have a life expectancy of 15-20 years, so it's important to be aware of how much life they have left.

3. How much storage space is there?
Storage space is arguably one of the most valuable assets of a home. If the property lacks storage spaces, always consider if there is room for cupboards or shelves to be built in.

4. How long has the house been on the market for?
For some people, a house that has been on the market for a long time could be seen as a red flag. However, a long listing time could work to their advantage. Sellers may be more likely to negotiate the longer they've been waiting to make the sale.

5. What's the area like?
Will the surrounding area fit in with their lifestyle? Is there a similar demographic of people nearby to connect with? It's always helpful to paint a wider picture of everything going on outside of the property.

6. How much will it cost to run the property?
Finding out council tax bands, costs for utility and general running costs will help the buyer budget and gain the best possible understanding of what will be coming out of their account should they choose to buy.
